Jewelry Care Tips
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CARE FOR MY JEWELRY?
Our products crafted with a stainless steel base are water-safe, ensuring no tarnishing. However, prolonged exposure may accelerate gold fading, hence we advise removing them during showers for extended preservation.
For items without a stainless steel base, gradual tarnishing might occur over time, yet our gold plating endures beyond a year. Please note that Comptoir du Bijou does not undertake jewelry maintenance responsibilities.
HOW SHOULD I CLEAN MY JEWELRY?
Please use a solution of warm water and detergent-free soap with a soft bristle brush.
DO I HAVE A JEWELRY ALLERGY?
Certain individuals may experience allergic reactions to certain platings, with nickel-plating being the most prevalent culprit affecting up to 10% of people. Regrettably, nickel is commonly employed in coloring gold, as an alloy, and occasionally in the electroplating procedure. For those with allergy concerns, many jewelry artisans prefer materials like surgical steel, sterling silver, vermeil, or gold-filled items.
MY JEWELRY IS TURNING COLOR, WHAT DO I DO?
Immediate discoloration may result from skin oil reacting with metal. We're not liable for any reactions. Use mild cleaners for 14K Gold and Gold Filled jewelry. Stainless Steel and Gold Plated pieces naturally develop a patina over time. Our thick Gold Plated stainless steel jewelry fades to a beautiful Gold and Silver ombre.

Our products are mainly made of Stainless Steel.

WHAT IS GOLD PLATED?
WHY DO YOU USE STAINLESS STEEL ?
We love stainless steel because it doesn't harm the person making or wearing it & it's corrosion resistant.
